Jon Lau is a really inspiring illustrator for me primarily for the vibrancy as his trade mark. Mostly working with gouache which is more opaque he uses transparency of the watercolor for details that provide great contrast and harmony. I have always loved Asian watercolor art, its symbolism and soft shapes of nature and I am always delighted when seeing artist who successfully capture that in modern form. Really amazing work, especially those botanical illustration. High skilled hand and excellent understanding of color palette.
