Progressing through these exercises I discovered an amazing artist Lauren Mortimer. Although we live in digital era where working with DTP software is unavoidable but I am feeling more connected to traditional style illustration, the one that employed good drawing and painting skills. In the realm of various digital simplified illustration it is really refreshing when I find work that is equally compelling in narrative and artistic way. Her mastery in pencil drawing accompanied with her sophisticated taste for vintage style and surrealism and sense to make one unity that conveys message through fantastic drawing skills is a combination that placed Lauren among successful my favorite artists. I really love employing good old artistic skills in a modern era. It is timeless and will always find a way to the viewers.
